#Throwback Thursday: Bernie Quinlin wins Brownlow Medal.

BERNI ‘SUPERBOOT’ QUINLIN is one of Fitzroy’s greats to be forever immortalised in club folklore, after winning the renowned Brownlow Medal at the age of 30, fulfilling a childhood dream.

“When you’re a kid, it’s something you dream about, standing up there with the Brownlow Medal around your neck,” he said.

Quinlin inherited his nickname as in 1983, he was the only player in club history to kick over 100 goals in one season.

Quinlin played 189 games kicking 576 goals in his time with Fitzroy, and was inducted into the Brisbane Lions Hall of Fame in 2012.
